Christ's Risen Presence at St. Thomas ensures that we recognize him in a concrete way in our daily lives. For us, this means the encounters we share in this place with these family members, friends, neighbors, colleagues and strangers. The more vibrant our life of communion grows, the more attractive it will become to those who may have fallen away, left the Church or never encountered an authentic Christianity before now.
When I am completely united to you, there will be no more sorrow or trials; entirely full of you, my life will be complete. Amen.
-St. Augustine (354-430)
“We are never alone: the Crucified and Risen Lord guides us. We have with us a multitude of brothers and sisters who, in silence and concealment, in their family life and at work, in their problems and hardships, in their joys and hopes, live faith daily and together with us, bring the world the lordship of God’s love, in the Risen Jesus Christ, ascended into Heaven, our own Advocate who pleads for us.”
